The Content-Aware Move tool is a great new feature in Adobe Photoshop CS6. It’s an awesome tool that allows you to move an object to another location in the image — and replaces the hole from where the object was moved with the background. It’s like magic! You can easily move elements within a scene while Photoshop automatically fills in the missing details.
The effect works best with a simple generalized background that doesn’t have too much detail (e.g., snow, grass, sand, sky or water). Here’s how it works:
- From the Healing Brush tool flyout, select the Content-Aware Move tool.
- Drag to create a loose selection path around the object in the image that you’d like to move.
- Click anywhere inside the selection and drag to the desired position in the image and release the mouse button. A Progress box shows the transformation process.
Control+D to deselect the image. It’s Unbelievable!
